Residents of Chubadak determined to rebuild homes demolished by DBKL

SHAH ALAM, 5 Aug: The settlers at Kampung Chubadak Tambahan are determined to rebuild their homes which were previously demolished by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

A resident, Saiful Asyraf, said that this is because Kampung Chubadak Tambahan has been their residential home for a very long time.

“This is where we grew up. This is our village. So regardless of anything, we will rebuild our homes here,” he said when contacted by Selangor Kini recently.

Saiful said that the construction work will be carried out in mutual cooperation by the villagers and that it will commence after the Muslims celebrate Aidilfitri.

“We will hire skilled craftsmen as the ‘heads’ and he will be helped by the villagers in mutual cooperation.

“For the construction materials, we will use timber and plank that still can be re-used, while we would just have to buy cement and brick,” he said.

He said that his family received an assistance of RM1,000 from Muslimat PAS, thus lightening their burden.
