KUALA LUMPUR, 11 Oct: The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, thanked the Prime Minister for emulating the Selangor government’s move to cut the salary of the Chief Minister.
“The Prime Minister followed the move by Selangor. I convey my thanks,” said Mohamed Azmin when met at the compound of the House of Representatives after the presentation of the Budget 2015 yesterday.
Mohamed Azmin explained that the measure to cut the salary was taken to reduce management expenses and focus on development expenses, thus generating the people’s economy.
However, he added, this is contrary with the Federal Government’s Budget 2015, which although freezes salary increases for the Prime Minister and other Cabinet Ministers, provides for other management expenses.
He also informed that the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) has no effect in helping the people’s economic development.
