Umno can forget about seeing Selangor bankrupt

BY NAZLI IBRAHIM

SHAH ALAM, SEP 11: Umno’s claim that Selangor will become bankrupt if PAKATAN took over State Government’s administration in 2008 was clearly to scare the people.

Former Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Deputy Director, Dr Rosli Yaakob said that it can be seen that after two terms of administration, the State Government brought in more rapid development in various aspects, especially improving the economy for the well-being of the people.

“It’s just political words. If there is a state in Malaysia that goes bankrupt, Selangor would not be in the list but, Perlis would be on top of the list to possibly goes bankrupt irrespective of which party governs it. Selangor is unlikely to be in the list of states to go bankrupt when it is governed by PAKATAN.

“Those are just empty words. PAKATAN has shown that for the two terms it governed, Selangor has developed more rapidly, with a very efficient and transparent administration, free from corruption as well as good governance causing the state to be at the forefront by exhibiting a balanced economy,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini today.

He added that the state development continue to thrive and is not stalled or negative as described by Umno.

He said the rapid economic development in Selangor and Penang not only proves PAKATAN’s ability to govern a state but it also prove its readiness to take lead the Federal Government.
