SHAH ALAM, 9 Dec: The Exco for Housing, Building Management and Urban Settler, Iskandar Samad, said that the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) will become the rescue developer for the Taman Bukit Impian abandoned housing project in Section U10, Shah Alam.
Iskandar said that the original was given land by the state government in 1997 and in 2003 they sold the lot of land to buyers.
“However, in 2006, the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS) received a report that the project had been abandoned.
“Since March 2008, various efforts by the state government were undertaken to restore this project,” he said in a statement.
The project involves 52 buyers who paid between RM160,000 and RM356,000 per person with a combined total of RM5 million.
“PKNS will refund the amount paid to the buyers and a new development will be carried out on the site.
“However, buyers will be given the opportunity to buy a home in the new project,” he said.
According to Iskandar, the Chief Minister will hand back the payment made by the buyers at a ceremony in Shah Alam on December 16.
