SHAH ALAM, 15 Dec: The Selangor State Assembly (DNS) Speaker, Hannah Yeoh, proposed for the state Barisan Nasional (BN) to appoint the Jeram Assemblyman, Datuk Amiruddin Setro, as the new Opposition Leader.
She said that Amiduddin is a viable candidate to hold the position based on his seniority and capacity as a member of the Selangor Public Accounts Committee (PAS) reported Bernama.
Under the Selangor State Legislative Assembly rules, which were recently amended, the Opposition Leader will also become the Chairman of the Selangor Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
The position of the Selangor Opposition Leader is vacant following the resignation of Datuk Mohd Shamsuddin Lias on December 8 for refusing to accept his appointment as the Chairman of the PAC.
