SPECIAL REPORT: All out to fight dengue

SHAH ALAM, 19 Mar: The cases of dengue in Selangor which was rising since early January was very worrying because it was taking the lives of the people in the state.

The Kota Damansara Assemblyman, Halimaton Saadiah Bohan, said that the state government needs to work more and more comprehensively in addressing the problem of dengue which involves the people’s lives.

“Since early January until now, dengue cases have been increasing. Activities undertaken have not shown significant effectiveness.

“We need to think of a more effective method since the activities being carried are less effective as the number of dengue cases is still high.

“The state government also needs to take more serious action by finding more effective methods compared to existing ones,” he said when contacted by Selangor Kini.

He said that more effective and widespread campaigns in raising awareness of the people should be carried out on the dangers of dengue.
