MPSJ allocates RM202,000 to upgrade the field in Puchong Utama

PUCHONG, 16 May: To provide facilities to the young people, the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) is allocating RM202,000 to upgrade the field at Jalan 1/4 Puchong Utama.

The MPSJ Community Development Department Director, Muhamad Zaki Yusoff, said that this was following complaints by the public who want sports facilities to be upgraded.

“Complaints were received in October 2014. In November, we issued the quotation and work commenced in January 2015 at a cost of RM102,000.

“The work includes leveling the field, replacing the grass and new goalposts. We are in the process of building a barrier behind the goalposts for safety at a cost of almost RM100,000,” he said.

MPSJ said that they also appointed a contractor to maintain the field on a monthly basis and he said that the public is advised to not use the field when it is raining to prevent damage.

Those who wish to organise weekend matches can book the field at a rate of RM150, starting from 4 pm to 6 pm.

In conjunction with the opening of the field, MPAJ organised a football tournament for two days involving 20 teams to fight for cash prizes amounting to RM4,600.
