PKR: Drag Najib Razak for investigation on 1MDB scandal

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 May: The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, should be investigated in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) case as he is allegedly directly involved in making the decision.

Rafizi Ramli (PKR-Pandan) said that based on Article 117 in the 1MDB Memorandum and Article of Association, according to him, it gives the Prime Minister direct involvement in 1MDB’s operations.

“Checks on the latest records from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) shows that 1MDB and Terengganu Investment Authority Berhad have company numbers,” he said at the Parliament Lobby.

The Vice President of PKR urged Najib to personally attend Parliament and provide and explanation for the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Prior to that, complaints were filed against the international audit company, Deloitte, for failing to provide warning that allegedly caused 1MDB to be in debt and not be able to pay back.

The complaint was filed by the Member of Parliament for Petaling Jaya Utara, Tony Pua, at the Malaysian Institute of Accountants in Kuala Lumpur today.
