BN Has still failed to name the DNS Opposition Leader

SHAH ALAM, 29 May: Barisan Nasional (BN) has still failed to name the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) Opposition Leader although it has been over five months since the resignation by the former Opposition Leader, Datuk Shamsuddin Lias.

The DNS Speaker, Hannah Yeoh, informed that she has yet to receive any response from the Selangor BN regarding the issue.

“At the moment, I have still not received anything from BN. Until now, they have yet to name the DNS Opposition Leader,” she told Selangor Kini today.

On December 8, Shamsuddin, also the Sungai Burong Assemblyman, decided to resign as the DNS Opposition Leader after several times rejecting the post of the state Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman.

Shamsuddin made the decision to respect the state law that required the head of the opposition to hold the chairmanship of the PAC.

Hannah said that BN’s failure caused the DNS to convene again in August without an opposition leader.
