CM: Damansara Damai traffic problem under attention

SHAH ALAM, 14 June: The complaints of the residents of Damansara Damai who have been beset by traffic congestion is in the attention of the state government for follow-up action, said the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali.

Mohamed Azmin said that the need to build a second route to disperse traffic in the area to claim some time to be processed at the Public Works Department (JKR) and related agencies.

“Indeed, the area is experiencing severe congestion problems and we have the need to find effective traffic dispersal. It is my responsibility to listen and help.

“If there is a need to build a second or additional road, we are ready to hear feedback which will then be reviewed because it involved provisions and technical work from JKR and related agencies,” he said.

He said this when met by reporters after Selangor State Ramadan Programme 2015 at Dataran Kemerdekaan last night.

Yesterday, over 200 residents of Damansara Damai gathered peacefully in front of the junction heading to Pangsapuri Saujana, demanding Mohamed Azmin to fulfil the promise to build a second route as a solution to the traffic problem that has plagued them since 2006.

The rally was also to pressure Mohamed Azmin to intervene and expedite the construction of the second like, as he promised at the Damansara Damai Mosque in March.

“So not look at my willingness to fulfill my promise at a fast rate because it needs to be examined by JKR and related agencies, especially in terms of cost, as this is a normal process.

“Most importantly, we always listen to the needs and complaints of the people before a construction starts,” he said.
