ALOR SETAR, 14 Aug: PKR members at the grassroots level have been asked to follow the command of the top leader in the effort to ensure the party’s success in the next election.
The PKR Vice President, Shamdul Iskandar Md Akin, said that all strategies discussed in the meeting should be implemented as soon as possible for the future of the party.
“We have to follow the head of the ship because if fragmented, the situation will not be good and it will be like the present government.
“If the party is weak, how are we going to govern the country one day,” he said during the President’s Trust Tour at TH Hotel & Convention Centre yesterday.
He said that all leaders and members should also unite to mobilise the party machinery to overthrow the mismanagement of the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration.
He said that the wave during the GE13 also clearly demonstrated the willingness of the people to change, however party efforts should be increased.
“In 2008, we denied BN a 2/3 majority but failed to become the dominant party and we are not yet number one.
“Therefore, we need to work from now because in the GE14, we will lead in Parliament,” said the Bukit Katil MP.
