SHAH ALAM 30th AUGUST: Thousands thronged Merdeka Square, Shah Alam, tonight to celebrate the eve of the 56th Independence at Selangor state level.
Themed “United People For Selangor’s Progress”, there was a buzzing excitement by 9:50 p.m.
Also attending was Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim along with the rest of the state leaders. Representing the Sultan of Selangor, Tengku Panglima DiRaja Selangor was also present.
Amongst the interesting lineups were the parade of Contingents 45 consisting of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), State of Selangor Civil Defense Department, Road and Transport Department (JPJ), Royal Malaysian Customs Department, and other government departments .
Also gracing the event were silent marching by the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM), ATM’s Tattoo Show and school bands.
The event closed with fireworks.
