Sultan of Selangor attends Friday prayers at TUDM Mosque, Subang

SHAH ALAM, JUL 1: His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah visited and performed Friday prayers at the Pangkalan Udara TUDM Mosque, Subang.

The sultan arrived at 1 pm and was accompanied by Raja Muda Tengku Amir Shah.

There were approximately 2,000 Muslims who were present to perform Friday prayers, led by the Imam Major Razailan Rhani.

After prayers, the sultan spent about 15 minutes shaking hands with the people.

Many present used the opportunity to record videos and take photos with His Royal Highness.

Earlier, the sultan reminded everyone to pay their zakat and to ensure the amil (a person elected by a religious body to accept zakat money) is accredited by the Selangor Zakat Board.

In following, the Imam emphasised on zakat payment issues in his Friday sermon.

At the event, the mosque administration and nazir also distributed bubur lambuk porridge to everyone.

The initiative was undertaken to obtain the blessings of Ramadan, the holiest month in the Muslim calendar.
