Android Travel Apps introduce Sekinchan tourism products

SHAH ALAM, 2 June: Promotion to introduce Sekinchan as a domestic and international tourism product continues to be intensified in a variety of ways to improve the economy of the local community.

The recent move taken for this purpose is by introducing a travel app for iOS and Android users to promote the district famous for seafood and high quality rice.

In fact, the public can also visit the SeKinChan Fecebook page which features interesting places there, which as of now, has received 27,150 likes.

The Assemblyman for Sekinchan, Ng Suee Lim, said that they have prepared their own tour book for the convenience of tourists.

“Sekinchan is the first in Malaysia to have its own mascot and its own tour guidebook.

“Sekinchan is capable of becoming a major attraction, thus developing into a popular tourist destination.

“Eco-tourism is limited. This is one way to expand the economy here, in line with the advances in information technology, where everything can be accessed at our fingertips,” he said in a press statement today.

He explained that the idea to boost the economy through Sekinchan tourism products began since 2004.

“Sekinchan became more known since Pakatan Rakyat (PR) took over the administration of Selangor in 2008,” added Suee Lim.

He said that this happened due to cooperation extended by Tourism Selangor and efforts to upgrade various facilities in Sekinchan.

Suee Lim also took the initiative to set up the Sekinchan Tourism Development Association.

The association consists of traders in every field in order to discuss issues faced by foreign tourists, particularly in the area of food.

“Our association will monitor to ensure reasonable prices of food from restaurants to other food outlets,” added Suee Lim.
