Mini Malaysia-Japan Festival 2014

SHAH ALAM, 12 Mar: In conjunction with the MPSJ and Hioki City Friendship programme, the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) will be organising the Mini Malaysia-Japan Festival 2014 In Subang Jaya on 15 March.

In a statement issued by the Corporate Planning Department, this programme is one of the ways to ‘internationalise’ MPSJ for the long term, in addition to contributing to better and more competitive development.

The statement said that the programme which is aimed at the Subang Jaya community and public and private institutes of higher learning can also help create more positive economic growth.

“The objective of this programme is to highlight the culture of the people of Malaysia and Japan where a variety of activities and family oriented events have been planned for the visitors.

“This programme can also be used as a foundation for the MPSJ management to exchange views and share experiences on culture and unique traditions of the respective countries,” it said.

The Mini Malaysia-Japan Festival 2014 in Subang Jaya will be held at the MPSJ 3C Complex at Jalan PJS 11/2, Taman Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, from 8am to 5pm.

Among the exciting activities that will be held are stalls, the Biomass and Green Initiative Exhibition, the Japan Photo Exhibition, Community Japanese Language Classes, Malaysia-Japan Martial Arts Performances, and the Malaysia-Japan Cultural Dance and Music Performance.

The idea for the implementation of the ‘Friendship City’ programme between MPSJ and Hioki City arose from the good relationship fostered with the management of Hioki CIty since 1998, followed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by them both in 2012.

Apart from the Mini Malaysia-Japan Festival 2014 In Subang Jaya, both parties have agreed to work together in a smart partnership for things like culture, education, economy, tourism and sports.
