Improve MPSJ enforcement, find an efficient formula to tackle the waste issue

SUBANG JAYA, 15 Jan: It is hoped that the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) will focus efforts to combat the waste problem comprehensively.

Consultant Azwan Ismail, 49, said that MPSJ should also produce a more efficient formula if they want to tackle the waste issue seriously.

He said that the waste issue is mostly contributed by the civic consciousness of the society, but steps by the local authority are also important in implementing the programme.

“MPSJ can act more firmly with the enforcement of the law if there are offences related to waste.

“Weak enforcement will not help and only contribute to the situation remaining the same or unchanged,” he said in a survey by Selangor Kini.

On January 12, the Yang DiPertua (YDP) of MPSJ, Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan, said that he will focus efforts to overcome the waste issue to create a clean and healthy environment.

Nor Hisham said that the welfare of the residents in Subang Jaya has also received attention and he is trying to improve the social status of the residents in housing areas.

Commenting on this aspiration, factory worker M.Norhisham Naim, 30, reminded MPSJ to also expand their efforts to rural areas.

“As we understand, MPSJ does not only supervise urban areas, but other areas such as Puchong, Seri Kembangan and other locations.

“The residents in these areas require welfare attention and also improvement in social living standards,” he said.
