This conformation was made as a result of a Readiness and Compliance Audit session carried out in April 2014 and post-audit by the Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM Berhad).

According to him, this certification is one of the mechanisms of evaluation, analysis and monitoring of risks for public safety and the preparation of a business continuity action plan that is more effective in ensuring that the supply of treated water to consumers is not affected.

“To obtain the ISO 22301:2012 certification, and ISO Steering Committee was established in June 2013 for the implementation of training programmes, document preparation, formulation of policies and strategies to gain the certification.

He further explained that Risk Appetite was focused on capability and types of risks related to the water treatment process and the formulation of an effective action plan to deal with incidents that may affect operation.

The main preparation was taking into account and identifying Operation Recovery Time that is the fastest in the plant.

This historic moment was immortalised at the presentation ceremony of the Malaysian Book of Records ISO 22301-2012 to the Chairman of Konsortium Abbas Sdn Bhd, Suhaimi Kamaralzaman, by the Director of SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd, Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi, and witnessed by the Chief Minister of Selangor, Mohamed Azmin Ali.
