KUALA LUMPUR, 25 Aug: PAS has decided to give full discretion to the Sultan of Selangor in determining the next Chief Minister of Selangor.
This was decided at the Central PAS Working Committee meeting this morning and it has been informed by the PAS Secretary-General, Datuk Mustafa Ali, during a press conference at the PAS General Office.
“The Central PAS Working Committee meeting today, 25 August 2014, agreed to surrender to the consent and wisdom of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor to determine who will take the position of the Chief Minister of Selangor,” he told the media.
Meanwhile, the Selangor Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, will go before the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, at 2.30 pm tomorrow to explain his position.
At the meeting on August 17, PAS proposed two names, the PKR President Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and her deputy, Mohamed Azmin Ali, as the Chief Minister candidates to replace Abdul Khalid.
