Selangorians Should Participate in the TAWAS Scheme, Important to Claim RM1,500

SABAK BERNAM, 28 Apr: The people of Selangor have been asked to not forget to register their newborn babies in the Selangor Children’s Heritage Fund (TAWAS) scheme.

Sekinchan Assemblyman, Ng Suee Lim, said that the registration is important in enabling them to claim RM1,500 when their children turn 18 years old.

“The State Government, through the Selangor Children’s Heritage Foundation (YAWAS), set up TAWAS as a responsibility and caring policy for the children of this state when they reach their teenage years.

“Therefore, hopefully those entitled will seize this opportunity, which is not available in other states, but in Selangor alone,” he told Selangor Kini today.

Yesterday, he presented TAWAS savings statement at a ceremony to 250 people who have already registered.

The event, which was organised by the Sekinchan Community Service Centre (PKM), in collaboration with YAWAS, also received 50 new TAWAS registrations and was held at Dewan Seri Sekinchan.

The programme which began at 8am to 11pm was also attended by the General Manager of YAWAS, Mohd Nor Mohd Zin and the Coordinator for the Sungai Panjang constituency PKM, Mohd Razali Saari.

To date, over 3,000 people from the Sekinchan constituency have registered and received TAWAS statements, which were presented in stages.
