CM: Stopping the Water Rationing Has Nothing to Do With the PKR Election

SHAH ALAM, 30 Apr: The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the decision to stop the water rationing was not made in conjunction with the PKR election, which is currently taking place.

Khalid, who is contesting for the position of the party’s Deputy President, said that the decision was made collectively with other parties in the water industry in the interest of the people.

He said that as the chief executive of the state, he never mixes responsibility with politics and carried out his duties in a professional manner.

“If the reason is the election, I would certainly have stopped it earlier and not wait untill now.

“The decision is with other parties, not by me alone,” he said in a press conference after chairing the Executive Council Meeting today.

The PKR election, which began last week, will witness Abdul Khalid competing with Datuk Saifuddin Nasution and Azmin Ali for the number two position in the party.

Commenting on the election, he urged the Party Election Committee (JPP) to provide a detailed report on the ‘blackout’ incident at the ballot counting room in a budget hotel during the party election a few days ago.

“I thought that the Political Bureau will take decisive action because PKR and Pakatan Rakyat (PR) are very angry with the Election Commission (EC) for not properly handling elections.

“Right now, I am not yet (happy with the JPP), I must get an accurate report on this matter,” he said.
