She said the restoration project can only proceed with consent from land-owners or purchasers.

“If an agreement cannot be fully reached, developers cannot continue the restoration effort. So, I will try to hold a discussion,” she told Selangor Kini to confirm reports from a portal.

Lee said that the State Government, through the Rehabilitation of Abandoned Projects Committee (JPPT), will negotiate to receive cooperation from all parties concerning this issue.

“The JPPT will discuss with rescuing developers, as well as the technical department, to accelerate the project restoration method by imposing minimum requirements.

“If there is an increase in costs, the JPPT will review the recovery cost to obtain detailed information about the additional costs to be jointly shouldered with the purchasers,” she said.

In relation to this case, the State Government may take action to acquire the land under the Land Acquisition Act 1960 and land expropriation will be carried out if violation of provisions under the National Land Code 1965 is found.
