GOMBAK, JUL 26: A total of 14 young diplomats who will be sent for duty abroad spent almost two hours with the Selangor Menteri Besar to get a closer look at the State Government’s management and administration model.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the visit was a positive development and an honour to the Pakatan State Government.

“I was a bit late today but due to a very good reason.  For the first time, Wisma Putra or the Foreign Ministry has allowed diplomats who will be sent abroad, in this case 14 of them, to meet me as Selangor Menteri Besar in order to be briefed and to see for themselves the State Government’s management and administration model.

“I view this as an honour and recognition to the State Government as matters arising in the dialogue session were mostly the government’s policies on citizens’ welfare, maintaining harmony in a multi-racial and multi-religious state as well as the Smart Selangor concept that is driving Selangor towards being an advanced state,” said Mohamed Azmin.

He was speaking earlier today during the Old Water Pipe Replacement Launch Ceremony in Jalan Taman Melawati.  The pipe replacement involves Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

He said Pakatan’s capability in leading Selangor, based on principles of responsibility and transparency, also includes the government’s seriousness in finalising the restructuring of water services in Selangor for a more holistic and total management.

The State Government had also received numerous recognitions and visits from parties within the country and abroad, honouring its achievements since 2008.

Mohamed Azmin had always been known among the media and State Government’s employees for being on time or rather earlier than the scheduled time for any programme that he attends.
