Strengthen integrity, Wakaf Selangor signs Ikrar Bebas Rasuah

SHAH ALAM, SEP 6: The Selangor Wakaf Corporation (PWS) is committed in reinforcing the values of integrity in its administration by pledging the Ikrar Bebas Rasuah (IBR) involving its employees.

Its Chairman, Dato’ Setia Ramli Mahmud said, the commitment is consistent with the corporation’s intention to carry out its responsibilities honestly without the culture of corruption in its administration.

“This initiative reflects PWS and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Corporation’s (SPRM) determination to combat corruption.

“We must have the conscience to reject things that are wrong in every action we take.

“It is PWS’s aim to continue to develop as a wakaf development institution with integrity and honesty in developing wakaf properties in Selangor,” he said in a speech at the Ikrar Bebas Rasuah Ceremony at the Sultan Idris Shah Building.

The oath-reading and signing of the pledge involved PWS Senior Management, employees and its subsidiary, Urus Maju Ehsan (M) Sdn Bhd and was led by PWS Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Mohamad Yacob.

The pledge was also witnessed by MACC Selangor Director, Dato’ Wan Ramli Wan Abdullah involving over 100 employees of the corporation.

At the same time, the Selangor branch of the National Audit Department was also awarded the Clean Audit Certificate for PWS Financial Statement which was presented by Selangor Audit Deputy Director, Rokiah Sahat.

IBR was implemented as a new initiative by MACC to ensure that individuals who sign the pledge become more responsible in carrying out their duties.

There are 90 agencies, local authorities and higher education institutions in Selangor have signed the IBR since its introduction last year.
