BY LIZAWATI MADFA

SHAH ALAM, SEP 14: A total of 80 Air Quality Sensors (AQS) are expected to be installed throughout Selangor by end of this year.

The Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU) Deputy Director, Dr Fahmi Ngah said, these AQS that the State Government is providing will be able to detect particles up to 2.5 micrometre particles (PM2.5) in diametre.

He said, this is far tinier than federal- owned AQS which can only detect particles with diameter of PM10 and above.

“This shows that this administration puts more emphasis on the quality of air that citizens are breathing in to ensure a healthy and prosperous life.

“This will be a guide to Selangor citizens who wish to do outdoor activities as they can detect the air quality in real time,” he said to SelangorKini.

Dr Fahmi said, citizens can check the AQS air quality reading through the EdiGreen AirBox application which can be downloaded through App Store and Play Store.

He added that there will be seven locations installed with the AQS which are Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Bukit Jalil, Seri Kembangan, Subang Bestari, Klang and Ampang Jaya, as of now.

“We are committed to add more AQS locations in line with the State Government agenda to create the ‘Smart Healthcare and Wellbeing’,” he said.
