Mesra Sihat Selangor ensures that the people get the best check-up

AMPANG, 19 Oct: The state government intends to create the Mesra Sihat Selangor programme to ensure that the people receive free and consistent health examinations.

The Executive Councillor in charge of Health, Welfare, Women’s Affairs and Family, Dr Daroyah Alwi, said that the programme will be implemented with the cooperation of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in each district.

She added that what is more interesting is that the wives of state Assemblymen and the Chief Minister will also participate in this programme through PEKAWANIS.

“We will also hold medic visitations which are visitations to the homes of patients who are bedridden, such as those suffering from stroke, senior citizens and so on, for health examinations in addition to handing out the aid needed.

“We are certain that such visitations, especially when visited by the Chief Minister’s wife, it would certainly give the patients spirit and encouragement,” she told Selangor Kini.

Earlier, she was at a ceremony to present Deepavali contributions from PEKAWANIS which was carried out by the Chairman, who is also the Chief Minister’s wife, Shamsidar Taharin.

Commenting further, Daroyah said that she has also planned additional programmes through the portfolio which she holds, in addition to improving the existing programmes.

“Like the women’s programme, the Enterprising Women’s Centre (PWB) will be maintained but a restructuring will be done to achieve its objectives.

“Among them, the position of the PWB supervisor will be maintained with a greater scope with a wider field of work and will be placed at the DUN (State Legislative Assebly) office to facilitate matters.
