Report public servants who are delinquent in their tasks

SHAH ALAM, 19 Feb: All heads of departments at local authorities and district officers have been directed to monitor the discipline of officers/employees at their respective departments to ensure that no one is delinquent in carrying out their jobs.

The State Government Secretary, Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi, said this during a surprise visit on public servants having morning tea and shopping during office hours last week. He received various feedback and many welcomed the move.

“From positive responses from the public regarding the surprise visit, I asked for everyone to provide information and pictures of government officers in Selangor who have morning tea during working hours,” said Khusrin on Facebook.

He will personally conduct a walkabout to ‘spot check’ at food premises outside the Selangor SUK Office to ensure that no employees are slacking off during working hours.

“I will extend this information to heads of departments concerned for further action.

“The information can also be sent via ‘private message’ on my Facebook page. The identity of the whistle-blower will be kept confidential,” he wrote.

Khusrin wrote that public servants, especially in Selangor, must ensure that the integrity of public servants is always preserved.

“The trust given by the people needs to be cared for as best possible. It is time for us to change for the sake of upholding public service at the proper places,” wrote Khusrin.
