Assemblyman: Only rivers roads are not charged toll

SHAH ALAM, 9 Apr: The proposal by the Permatang Assemblyman, Sulaiman Abdul Razak (BN) for road users to use alternative roads if they do not want to pay toll was slammed by several Pakatan Rakyat (PR) Assemblymen.

This was because Sulaiman himself could not name one alternative route that is exempt from toll towards Puchong, as he mentioned previously.

“They are not forced to use tolled roads because they can use existing alternative roads like in Puchong,” he said.

Sulaiman’s words caused several PR Assemblymen to stand up and ask him to name one alternative route to Puchong.

“Which road is not tolled? In Puchong, only the river road is not tolled,” said the Serdang Assemblyman, Noor Hanim Binti Ismail.

Noor’s spontaneous words heated up the solemn atmosphere at the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) session this evening.

Prior to that, Sulaiman presented the motion urging the state government to provide full cooperation to the federal government to continue the construction of the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) which will help ease traffic in the city centre.
