KUALA LANGAT, 22 May: The Selangor government never ordered the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) to dismiss Ekhsan Bukharee Badrul Hisham from his post as a Kafa teacher.
The Selangor Exco for Islamic Affairs, Malay Customs and Heritage, Rural Development and Traditional Villages, Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi, said that instead the decision was made by JAIS professionally without the intervention of any party.
“The state government gives the power to all departments to manage their administration professionally.
“So, the action taken must also be professional. No form of instruction was given by the state government to dismiss Ekhsan.
“If JAIS thinks there is an offence, they they can take appropriate action without political direction,” he said during a press conference at the Kuala Langat District Islamic Religious Office today.
Dr Ahmad Yunus said that he is confident that JAIS has taken into account various aspects and has fulfilled the procedure before deciding to dismiss Ekhsan.
On April 8, Ekhsan was prevented from entering the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) to claim the promise of the state government to increase Kafa teachers’ allowances from RM1,300 to RM1,500 a month.
