Wan Azizah: RMK-11 neglects PR states, it is punishment politics

SHAH ALAM, 22 May: The central government should not ignore states under the leadership of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) in the country’s development and progress.

The Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, said that the federal government should provide equal focus just like states under Barisan Nasional (BN) if they want PR to continue to support the tabling of the Malaysia Plan (RMK-11).

“Advancement projects are focused on BN, development asked by PR did not receive feedback from the federal government. It is punishment politics and the Prime Minister should not do so.

Wan Azizah said that PR welcomed the implementation of RMK-11 but should review the irregularities that contributed to large sums such as the 1MDB issue.

“The 1MDB incident clearly did not provide any benefits, in fact the people have to bear the burden of debt. This is never faced by other countries.

“GST will be maintained to add to the woes of the people. We need to research into which GST channel the people are paying to the government,” he said.
