PAS agrees to reject CM appointment? Delegates say ‘No’

BATU PAHAT, 19 Sept: The majority of delegates at the 60th PAS Congress want PAS to accept the appointment as Chief Minister if chosen by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, when confronted with the question.

They said ‘no’ when the delegate from PAS Youth, Sany Hamzan, tried to receive consent by asking of PAS agrees to reject it if a PAS Assemblyman is chosen to replace Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

“Do we agree to reject it if a Selangor PAS Assemblyman is appointed by the Sultan of Selangor as the new Chief Minister?”

“No”, answered most of the delegates.

Sany repeated the same question three of four times regardless of the answer “no’ but received the same answer.

Eventually he was forced to give an explanation on the need to reject the choice on grounds that the seat has been agreed to be allocated to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

However, most of the delegates continued to dispute Sany’s explanation to a point that the Permanent Chairman had to appease them.

The incident was like when the Prime Minister asked three times ‘Are You Ready For BN’ at a concert with the famous Korean singer, PSY, in Penang before the 13th General Election where the visitors replied ‘No’.
