“I stress for the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) to ensure that the guidelines set are complied with,” said the Sultan during the opening ceremony of the Ar-Ridhuan Mosque in Pekan Jeram in conjunction with his 69th birthday celebration.

Accompanying the Sultan was Chief Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali, the Selangor State Secretary, Mohamed Khusrin Munawi; the Exco for Religious Affairs, Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi; the Mufti, Datuk Setia Mohd Tayes Abdul Wahid; and the Chairman of MAIS, Datuk Seri Mohamad Adzib Mohd Isa.

At the same time, the Sultan was also celebrated with the reading of the Yassin, Tahlil and prayers of good wishes in conjunction with his birthday celebration.

The Sultan also consented to attend a feast with the congregation of the mosque after performing the Friday prayers.

In the meantime, the Sultan also urged the public to be aware and not underestimate the activities of heresy by providing information about the movement of such teachings to JAIS.

“It is feared that heresy will initially move on a small scale and develop, becoming hard to contain.

“As a result, Muslims will be divided, live in an atmosphere of conflict and not be respected by others in the community,” the Sultan said.

The Sultan called on all Muslims to foster brotherhood among Muslims and use mosques and suraus to seek knowledge.

“I call upon Muslims to be more eager to strengthen understanding and be united in defending the sanctity of Islam, the nation and the country,” said the Sultan.
