Xavier: Malaysia difficult to achieve Vision 2020

ALOR SETAR, 14 Aug: The economic downturn and the weak governance is expected to destroy Malaysia’s hoped to achieve Vision 2020, which should be achieved in five more years.

The PKR Vice President, Dr Xavier Jayakumar, said that the intent is difficult to achieve due to mismanagement by Barisan Nasional (BN) under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

“We assumed that Malaysia will be developed, wages will rise, the people will be comfortable in 2020.But can this all be achieved?

“The declining value of the currency will cause the country to face inflation, prices will increase and burden the people,” he said during the President’s Trust Tour at TH Hotel & Convention Centre yesterday.

Xavier, who is also the Seri Andalas Assemblyman, said that only Najib should be held accountable for what is happening to the country today.

He said that Najib has also lost the trust of the people and communities around the world who are fed up by his dirty politics.

“If he (Najib) is not made to step down, we will not progress in the future.

“With the time left, if we do not unite, it is hard to obtain opportunities like this because Umno can no longer fool the people,” he said.
