BANGI, 22 Oct: The research results of the Selangor International University College (KUIS) will be commercialised starting next year.
The Reactor, Prof Dr Ab Halim Tamuri, said that the research results commercialisation process is actively being carried out in stages starting with publication.
“At first, it was not commercialised because KUIC was not ready to become a research university.
“However, this year we are starting it seriously with a research grant of RM1 million and RM1.5 million for next year,” he told Selangor Kini.
Abdul Halim said that research in Arabic and Information Technology has great potential to be commercialised.
“We have many modules that are practical, as well as in technology. We can be patent them. God willing, when the grant is provided, there will be no problem to commercialise.
“In fact, I propose for the the fields of language and technology to be joined so that it can become a better product for KUIS in the future,” he said.
He expects that in the next five years, research results by KUIS will be fully patented.
