Selangor Health Dialysis Panel facilitates patients outside the Klang Valley

SHAH ALAM, 23 Apr: The Selangor Health Dialysis Panel was created to facilitate kidney disease patients outside the Klang Valley to obtain treatment.

The Exco for Health, Welfare, Women’s Development and Family, Dr Daroyah Alwi, said that patients do not have to travel far to obtain dialysis services with the existence of the panel.

“For now, patients have to go to the People’s Dialysis Centres (PDR), which are mainly located in the Klang Valley.

“After this, it is no longer necessary because of the panel appointed, including Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam, Banting and Sepang,” she told Selangor Kini.

On April 21, Daroyah participated in the Selangor Health Dialysis Panel Establishment Coordination Meeting with 48 private dialysis panels.

“Most of the panel agreed that this aid will provide an opportunity for patients to receive early treatment before they obtain other sponsorship to continue treatment.

“As we all know, this treatment requires great expenses, but hopefully the RM5,000 we are giving will ease their burden,” she said.

Currently, there are five PDRs in Ampang, Taman Medan, Lembah Keramat, Sementa and Sri Muda.

During the last Selangor State Assembly (DNS) session, Daroyah announced that RM1.2 million was allocated for the success of the Selangor Health Dialysis Panel programme.
