The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the project is done on an open tender basis and will be funded by several other companies, including the State Government subsidiary company, the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), which will issue an allocation of RM10.9 million.

He said among the other companies involved are Sejagat Emas, with an overall cost of RM265,000, Era Wangsa (RM1.5 million), Daya Interlek (RM424,000), PRC Astanaz (RM795,000), MS Kali (RM1.9 million) and Solar Purpose (RM291,000).

He said that the project will also be joined by Worldwide (RM1.5 million), PC and Banner (RM2.5 million), Selamat (RM1.1 million), i-City (RM27.5 million) and IGM Properties (RM4 million).

“The total collected so far is RM42 million and some developers have already settled their payment, but there are some who have not.

“The State Government, through the State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN), will advance the money involved and we will deposit it into the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) account, while developers who pay late will be imposed in interest,” he said when answering a question from Shuhaimi Shafiei (PKR-Sri Muda) regarding the construction of the bridge.

Abdul Khalid said that the State Government is asking developers to pay for the cost of the bridge’s construction according to the amount of land developed and the usage rate of the highway involved.

At the same time, he said that the State Government, in ratio, will ask for payment from all companies involved to cover the additional cost to build the highway.

“We are making these plans so that those involved will agree to fund it because the initial estimate was RM42 million. Now it has increased to RM53 million and on ration, we will ask for payment from all those involved,” he said.
