Selangor Organises Prayers for Water Restructuring to Finalise Quickly

SHAH ALAM, 13 Dec: The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, joined in prayers and recitals at the State Mosque in Shah Alam this evening to pray for the water restructuring issue in Selangor to finalise soon.

About 200 worshipers were present at the event, which was led by the State Mosque Imam Besar, Ahmad Mustafa Mohd Sidin.

Also present was the Member of Parliament for Shah Alam, Khalid Samad; the Executive Councillor in charge of Religion, Modernisation of Agriculture and Rural Development, Sallehen Mukhyi, as well as the Exco for Sports, Dr Yunus Hairi.

The event began with the Maghrib prayer, followed by the solat hajat (a prayer to wish for something), recitals and the Isha prayers.

Abdul Khalid is committed to resolve the issue of the state’s water restructuring by offering RM9.65 billion to four water concessionaires.

The four companies involved are; the Selangor Water Supply Company Sdn Bhd, Konsortium Abbas Sdn Bhd, Puncak Niaga Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Pengeluar Air Selangor Holdings Bhd, which cover the water industry in Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur.
