SHAH ALAM, JUL 23: A total of 23 traders were selected to receive awards worth RM1,000 each as 2016 Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) Exemplary Ramadan Bazaar Traders.

MPSJ Corporate Communications Officer Muhammad Azli Miswan said a total of 15 traders were selected by MPSJ while the rest were selected by Unilever Food Solution based on several set criteria.

“The award was introduced to recognise traders who have given their commitment to adopt the best practices in food handling.

“They also supported MPSJ’s green efforts in their businesses during Ramadan,” he said in a statement.

Azli said that in addition to the RM1,000 incentive, exemplary traders were also given the priority in selecting their bazaar plots and location without having to go through the balloting session.

“They don’t have to queue to get application forms for next year’s Ramadan bazaar.

“MPSJ hopes that through this green initiative programme, more traders and the community will be aware of the importance of protecting the environment and recycling,” he said.
