Anwar: Umno-BN in ‘Hysterics’

PETALING JAYA, 18 Feb: The candidate for the Kajang State legislative Assembly (DUN), Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, denied claims that contesting in the DUN was an easy way to resolve ‘infighting’ within PKR and Pakatan Rakyat (PR) component parties.

Anwar, who is also the PKR de facto leader, said that his appointment as candidate was agreed by the party leadership.

In fact, he said, despite attempts to divide the party and PR component parties, it has not affected the relationship.

“I actually do not see the infighting. I do not know from which source it is from, it could be a source from Barisan Nasional (BN).

“Because we know that BN is in ‘hysterics’ to seek strategies to fight against Pakatan,” he said in a press statement at the PKR Headquarters.

Anwar said that so far, he has received good cooperation from PAS and DAP leaders and machinery throughout the field programmes in Kajang.

“There is no reason for me to doubt the commitment of Pakatan partners apart from PKR, despite at the grassroots level, we are not facing any problems,” he said.
