SHAH ALAM, NOV 13: A culture of integrity and accountability is important and needs to be inculcated to become the core culture in Klang Muncipal Council.
MPK Yang Dipertua Dato’ Mohamad Yasid Bidin said the elements are the basis that he emphasises on and needed to be practised by MPK employees of every rank.
He said that high quality employees are important assets to the success of an organisation and the nation. Values like trustworthiness, transparency, accountability and service to the public are the foundation and basis for integrity and ethics.
“Integrity and ethics at work and in an organisation isn’t limited to individuals attending to their own needs but also covers his actions at work, all of which is linked closely to religious practises and our responsibility as humans.
“The erosion of integrity among civil servants has bred mismanagement and wrongdoing in an organisation,” he said during the monthly gathering hosted together with the MPK Corporate Communications Department and IT Department.
At the gathering, Yasid also launched the Sang Semut Icon as the MPK 5S Environmental Practices.
Yasid added that the Corporate Communications Department now plays an important role in disseminating information regarding policies, programmes and various activities through effective communication channels including good relations with the media.
“The cooperation of all departments make MP a strong team in facing various problems faced by the population and locals,” he said.
