SHAH ALAM, NOV 14: The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) continues with its mega campaign Zakat Di Hati, which is in its fifth year, beginning November 15 until December 15.
LZS Strategic Marketing Unit Head Mohamed Syahril Zainol said the campaign is aimed at educating the public in cultivating the practice of zakat all the time.
He said it is also to clarify with the public that the fourth pillar of Islam is not only a must during Ramadan or year-end.
“We want to create awareness to the public on zakat, particularly on products and types of zakat.
“This includes creating awareness on the method of zakat calculation method, mediums of payment besides ensuring that information dissemination regarding zakat distribution is consistent to the community,” he said.
Themed #terusdiyakini, the campaign’s closing ceremony is scheduled for December 15 at Universiti Putra Malaysia in conjunction with Forum Perdana Hal Ehwal Islam.
Syahril said that it is hoped the one month mega campaign can enlighten people and encourage them to fulfil their zakat obligations.
“LZS always provides the best platform to make it easier for Muslims to implement the fourth pillar of Islam. It is also hoped that the community continue to be confident with LZS as a zakat management authority, appointed by the Sultan of Selangor,” he said.
