CM: ‘There are no conditions that requires resignation after losing in party election’

PORT KLANG, 28 JUNE: Chief Minister, Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will not step down as the top person in the state even if urged by various parties.

Abdul Khalid said so while commenting on the effects of losing in the People’s Justice Party (PKR) election for the Deputy President position.

“There are no requirements to resign. There are no conditions that require an individual to resign after losing.”

“If you are holding an elected position, it means there are more responsibilities on your shoulders till the next general election,” he said during a press conference at a Ramadhan funds aid handover ceremony at Kampung Perigi Nenas, here.

Abdul Khalid insists that he will continue to serve in his position as State Assemblyman (ADUN), Member of Parliament (MP), and Chief Minister.

Before, there are various parties that urged Abdul Khalid to resign as Chief Minister by claiming that he failed to solve a few core problems and the probability of him losing in the chase for Deputy President.

Abdul Khalid failed to defend his position as Division Chief of Kuala Selangor in the recent PKR election.

For the Deputy President race, Abdul Khalid is facing Deputy President, Azmin Ali and Datuk Saifuddin Nasution.
