“We are holding programmes in this area as it is a hotspot for dengue in Puchong. We always involve the participation of residents’ committees for the provision of logistics.

“Awareness among the public and relevant parties is high and we are required to combat it (dengue) because many people have fallen sick from this disease, including deaths,” he said.

He said this during a press conference after Series Four of the Gotong Royong Programme to Eradicate Aedes Together With Celebrities at the Taman Mawar Apartments here yesterday.

Abdullah said that MPSJ has detected 52 cases in the area involving terrace houses, apartments and so on, as of this September.

In addition to such programmes, he said that MPSJ also conducts monitoring, inspection and fogging every day at areas under their administration.

The Fifth Series of this MPSJ Gotong Royong Programme will be held at Sri Puchong after this.
