CM: No need to review the Budget 2015, early preparation has been made

IJOK, 22 Jan: The restructuring of the Selangor Budget 2015 is not necessary because the deficit budget implemented can face current economic challenges.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that they have made preparations earlier to face the possibility of an economic collapse with the decision to increase development expenditure over management expenditure.

“At this point, we feel that there is no need to review the Selangor budget because earlier on we have sniffed out the possibility that an economic slowdown will happen this year and taken steps to address them.

“That is why we truthfully announced a deficit budget for Selangor that is focused on development with less expanses on management because we want this effort to be able to cope with an economic downturn.

He said this when met by reporters after the ground-breaking ceremony for the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) Selangorku Dream Homes in Section 5, Kota Puteri, today.

Elaborating, Mohamed Azmin said that the Selangor government will not neglect the poor and the middle class in facing economic challenges that are expected to become more pressing.

“In this situation, we will not forget them, that is why we are continuing people-caring programmes such as Mimbar and Skimsel, with provisions amounting to RM100 million.

“It is also a step to ease their burden due to the implementation of the GST,” he said.
