Two more Selangorku Homes projects will be launched

SHAH ALAM, 19 Mar: Two more affordable housing projects under the Selangorku Homes programme will be launched by the state government on March 20 and 22.

The Exco for Housing, Building Management and Urban Living, Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad, said that the launching of the two new projects is part of the Selangorku Homes programme under the ‘Selangorku Homes Encouragement Incentive Scheme 2015’ which is being developed by private developers.

He said that the launch and registration of Selangorku Homes involves Sime Darby Property (Klang) in Bandar Bukit Raja and Bandar Rimbayu Sdb Bhd in Telok Panglima Garang, Banting.

“This proves the state government’s commitment to increase the supply of homes that are comfortable and of quality to enhance the wellbeing of Selangorians, as outlined in the ‘Selangorku Homes Policy’ objective.

Iskandar said that nine Selangorku Homes projects were approved by the state government containing 11,833 housing units so far.

He said that this number does not include homes that will be built by state government subsidiary companies such as the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) and Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB).

“The Selangor government is targeting 15,000 Selangorku Homes units which will be approved and launched this year,” he said.

He said that the new application requirements have been relaxed by allowing single people aged 25 and above to buy these homes as the state government’s initiative to give the people the opportunity to own Selangorku Homes.

Selangorku Homes are houses that are required to be built by developers with a control price of RM42,000 to RM250,000 per unit, depending on the minimum floor area of 700 square feet up to 1000 square feet.
