As the GST approaches there are more complaints

SHAH ALAM, 29 Mar: More complaints by the people are being received regarding the implementation of the goods and services tax (GST) which will start in April 1 as it burdens the current high cost of living.

The Exco for Infrastructure and Public Amenities, Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-based Industries, Zaidy Abdul Talib, said that the state government objects the implementation of the GST because the people are burdened by a variety of high costs.

“I have received many complaints regarding the GST from parents at today’s programme who are already feeling the burden.

“That is why the state government is evaluating and researching matters related to this service to ensure as best possible so that it is not subject to the GST,” he said during the PASTI sports programme today.

According to him, to reduce the people;s burden, it is suggested that the government does not impose the GST on commercial premises, multipurpose halls and sports complexes.

“The government can reduce the original price after calculating the GST of the rent that still does not burden the people,” he said.
