CM: May revenue collection RM1.1 billion, confident in achieving target of RM1.97 million

Kajang, 23 May: Even though the second quarter of the year has not ended, the Selangor government has reached a revenue collection of RM1.1 billion or 52 percent compared to the overall revenue collection target for 2015 of RM1.97 billion.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the first five months has given a positive indication that the state government is able to achieve revenue surplus by the end of 2015.

“Thank God, as I announced recently, as of May 2015 there is an excess or the revenue collected by the state government has reached RM1.1 billion or 52 percent of the target set.

“We set the goal in 2015 to collect RM1.97 billion, but in the first five months alone we have achieved 52 percent,” he said.

Mohamed Azmin said this during the Launching and Registration Ceremony for the Gamuda Land Berhad Affordable Homes at Jade Hills today.

Mohamed Azmin said that the discrimination by the federal government in distributing allocations did not prevent Selangor’s development.

He said that this is due to the high amount of reserves owned by the state government which can be used to maintain welfare and develop infrastructure needed by the people.

“The state government ensures better facilities and infrastructure for the people of Selangor,” he said.
