Dengue, the biggest fight to be resolved together

SUBANG JAYA, 15 Aug: The fight against dengue is a huge responsibility that should be shouldered by everyone, said the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) Speaker, Hannah Yeoh.

Hannah said that it is not a threat that can be destroyed with fogging activities only because it only destroys adult Aedes mosquitoes, not its offspring.

“Aedes mosquitoes can lay up to 400 larvae that later become adult mosquitoes and threaten all.

“With more than 40,000 cases reported in Selangor, combating dengue is a major war for us all; no one is exempted,” she said.

She said this during the Breast Cancer Awareness programme organised by Real Kids at USJ 12 today.

In relation to that, Hannah, who is also the Subang Jaya Assemblyman, urged all parties to work together to eradicate the breeding of Aedes and dengue.

“We have to check the area around houses and neighbourhoods, do not be arbitrary and selfish.

“Teach your children and family about dengue so that everyone will understand the impact and they can be more watchful and attentive,” she said.
