MDKS upset that signboard was falsified

SHAH ALAM, 27 June: The Kuala Selangor District Council (MDKS) was upset with the irresponsible acts of some in disseminating false information which tarnished the image of the local authority.

The Kuala Selangor District Council (MDKS) Secretary, Azahari Sairin, explained that false information on the signboard prohibiting littering went viral, surprising everyone.

He said that decisive action should be taken against unscrupulous individuals who disseminated the false information.

“I ask the irresponsible individuals to be taken action against because of the spreading of false information which went viral was embarrassing,” he said.

He said that the writing, “Awas! Anda akan berhadapan dengan penguatkuasa tidak berpakaian” (Beware! You will face a naked enforcement officer), causes a negative perception of MDKS enforcers and misunderstanding.

“The accurate information is ‘Awas! Anda akan berhadapan dengan penguatkuasa tidak berpakaian seragam’ (Beware! You will face a nonuniform enforcement officer) to detect those who still stubbornly dispose of rubbish on government reserve land and at the side of roads,” he said.

The spreading of an image of the MDKS amended signboard first became noticed on June 24.

The signboard is installed at Jalan Melor 1, Saujana Utama, intended as a notice to prohibit littering in the area, issued by MDKS.

In relation to that, he said that it is hoped all social media users will be more responsible to not to change any notices on MDKS signboards and disseminate them on social sites.
