SHAH ALAM, 21 Sept: About 150 officers and department heads who are women in the state government were celebrated at a reception at the official residence of the Chief Minister.
The programme, organised by the Selangor Women’s Welfare and Charity Organisation (PEKAWANIS), was also attended by the wives of Selangor Assemblymen.
The Chairman of Pekawanis, Shamshida Taharin, proposed for each staff to go forward with new ideas so that Selangor will continue being an outstanding state.
“We, in Selangor, are advantaged that we are in a developed state. So we have to always move forward.
“Staff also need to communicate well between each department.
“Most importantly, reduce gossiping.We need to carry out our duties responsibly,” she said in a speech.
Shamshida also welcomed any department that wants to work with PEKAWANIS in various activities.
“We want to work together.PEKAWANIS carries out a lot of charity work, so we welcome cooperation,” she said.
In addition, they were also celebrated by singer, Aisha.
Also present was the Exco for Health, Welfare, Women and Family Affairs, Dr Daroyah Alwi.
Also present was the Selat Klang Assemblyman, Dr Halimah Ali, and the Seri Serdang Assemblyman, Noor Hanim Ismail.
