Helmet distribution to create road safety awareness

SHAH ALAM, JUL 2: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has launched a Selamat Balik Kampung Campaign ahead of the festive season to create road safety awareness among the public.

A total of 400 helmets for adults and 50 helmets for children were sponsored by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd and distributed to the public for free.

In its Facebook update, MBSA stated that the helmets have security features in compliance with, and are approved by SIRIM.

Through this campaign, new helmets were distributed to the public via an exchange of old helmets which were non-compliant with safety specifications.

The Council also gave out 550 light reflector vests to motorists.

The items were given out by Shah Alam Mayor Dato’ Ahmad Zaharin Mohd. Saad.

Also present were SIRIM QAS International Managing Director Puan Khalidah Mustafa, MBSA council members, directors and staff.
